Yea!!! 34 hours until lift-off!!!

Okay...Halloween was fun, but it pales in comparison to the great time we're all about to have on our trip. Are you guys pumped? I know I certainly am. Everyone PLEASE get plenty of sleep because we're moving at full throttle. I'm so incredibly excited! We'll be posting often so moms, dads, siblings, love ones, teachers, etc. check our blog often to see what we're up to. Gotta follow my own instructions...off to bed for now. (An hour of extra sleep -- you just have to like that, huh?) Please continue to be in prayer for us.

November 2, Monday

6:00 AM All students and parents leaving on American Airlines #684 (Mr. Naterman’s plane) arrive at DFW Airport for check in; meet Mr. Naterman at the closest ticket counter to the departure gate; call (800) 433-7300 before leaving home for terminal and gate number. All adults must have photo ID and appropriate baggage fees!
6:30 AM All students and parents leaving on American Airlines #1572 (Mrs. Chaulk’s plane) arrive at DFW Airport for check in; meet Mrs. Chaulk at the closest ticket counter to departure gate; call (800) 433-7300 before leaving home for terminal and gate number. 8:05 AM Depart American Flight # 684, flying to Washington Reagan Airport (DCA) – Mr. Naterman’s Plane
8:30 AM Depart American Flight # 1572, flying to Washington Dulles Airport (IAD) – Mrs. Chaulk’s Plane
11:50 PM American Flight #684 arrives at Washington Reagan Airport and is met by a JE representative. This group will retrieve its luggage and head toward the Pentagon Centre where they will meet the other group and have lunch at the food court; (703) 415-2400; 1100 S Hayes Street, Suite 3074, Arlington, VA 22202
12:15 PM American Flight #1572 arrives at Washington Dulles Airport and is met by a JE representative. This group will retrieve its luggage and head toward the Pentagon Centre food court for lunch; (703) 415-2400; 1100 S Hayes Street, Suite 3074, Arlington, VA 22202
2:15 PM Both groups will load transport charters according to their designated assignments and head toward Arlington National Cemetery.
2:30 PM Arrive at Arlington National Cemetery; (703) 607-8000. While here, we will see the Kennedy memorials as well as Arlington House and view the changing of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
4:30 PM Both groups will load their designated transport charter
4:40 PM Both groups arrive at the Iwo Jima Memorial where they will commemorate one of the costliest victories in World War II.
5:00 PM Dinner at the Reagan Center; (202) 312-1310; 1300 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Washington, D.C. 20004
6:00 PM Both groups will load their designated transport charter for evening tours of the presidential and war memorials: Jefferson Memorial, FDR Memorial, Korean Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, World War II Memorial and the Washington Monument.
9:00 PM Both groups will load their designated transport charter and head toward the hotel
9:10 PM All SCS parents and students will arrive at Marriott Fairfax at Fair Oaks (703) 352-2525; 11787 Lee Jackson Highway, Fairfax, VA 22033 for check-in
9:30 PM Debriefing/Devotional by Mr. Naterman and Mr. Swinney
10:00 PM All students and adults must be in assigned hotel rooms.

November 3, Tuesday

6:30 AM Wake up call. Full breakfast at the hotel.
7:30 AM Meet for morning announcements and devotional; location TBA
8:00 AM Both groups will load their designated transport charter
8:35 AM Arrive at Supreme Court – Interior visit provided court is not in session.
9:10 AM Arrive at Capital Building for check-in
9:40 AM Interior visit of Capital Building
11:00 AM Arrive at the Library of Congress – Interior visit

1:30 PM Arrive at the National Archives – Interior visit
2:45 PM Arrive at Smithsonian. 8:00 AM Both groups will load their designated transport charter for transfer to Charlottesville, VA (2.5 hours)

12:45 PM Both groups will load their designated transport charter and head toward Monticello
1:00 PM Arrive at Monticello (434) 984-9880; This is the famous plantation house of our third president, Thomas Jefferson
1:15 PM Groups A/B/C tour Monticello. Groups D/E will have preliminary tour of the grounds. They will finish touring grounds after Monticello home tour is complete.
1:30 PM Groups D/E tour Monticello. Groups A/B/C will complete tour and then tour grounds.
4:00 PM Both groups will load their designated transport charter and head toward Richmond

11:00 AM Both groups will load their designated transport charter and head toward Colonial Williamsburg
11:20 AM Arrive at Colonial Williamsburg; Lunch on own at restaurant of your choice; (This meal is NOT included in the cost of the trip!) Free time
12:10 PM Those interested in attending OPTIONAL tour of The College of William and Mary, meet in front of the Barnes and Noble bookstore.
1:15 PM ALL SCS students and parents meet in front of Merchant’s Square. Divide into groups A/B/C/D/E for guided tour of Colonial Williamsburg
1:30 PM Guided tour of Colonial Williamsburg begins
5:15 PM All groups will meet in front of the Court House and then walk as a group to dinner.

10:45 AM Divide into groups A/B/C/D for a guided tour of Mt. Vernon Plantation House and Education Center
1:10 PM Lunch on your own at dining facility of your choice. This meal is NOT included in the cost of the trip!
1:45 PM All groups will meet on the front porch of the gift shop.
1:50 PM Both groups will load their designated transport charter for transfer to their respective airports.
2:30 PM Both groups will arrive at their respective airports
4:10 PM Depart American Flight # 1445, flying from Washington Reagan Airport (DCA) to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) – Mr. Naterman’s Plane; All adults must have photo ID and appropriate baggage fees!
